Supply Chain Security Consultant-PENANG-BAYAN LEPAS

Scope of Responsibilities/Expectations:

  1. Maintain, develop and improve existing Supply Chain Security standards, processes, standard operating procedures for Motorola Solutions.
  2. Ensure the safety and security of Motorola product in the internal and external supply lanes.
  3. Acts as the brokers of higher order security services from the regional management team to their local Human Resources, CRE, Procurement, CBRE,  Supply Chain, Trade Compliance, and business partners
  4. Maintains a strong additional reporting line into the Supply Chain organization.
  5. Maintain, manage and develop a robust security audit capability within Motorola Solutions supply chain locations, and for appropriate vendors, suppliers, service centres and freight forwarders by utilizing the Vulnerability Assessment audit tool.
  6.  Ensure Motorola Solutions acquires and maintains their regulatory licensing and requirements in relation to supply chain security, and trade compliance certification. This includes, but is not limited to: CTPAT (Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism), AEO (Authorised Economic Operators) licensing,Airfreight Security Requirements (AEO)
  7. Provides a Governance capability for the Supply Chain Security Program by utilizing the regional LPS team members to maintain audit, certification, investigation and brand protection capabilities
  8. Establishes and maintains open communication with the company's freight carriers, Insurers, and insurance brokers to track Supply Chain losses, claims and contribute the necessary security language for contracts
  9. Identify Motorola Solutions brand protection issues and work with Legal and Global Investigations to mitigate risk in this area
  10. If applicable, assists in the development of new programs, policies, and practices regarding security measures necessary for the proper application of U.S. government regulations and specifications for classifying, upgrading, downgrading, and safeguarding classified information
  11. Provides operational site security duties, including the supervision of site security contract guarding and central alarm monitoring arrangements where appropriate.
  12. Markets and promotes LPS, its services, programs, policies, and recommended practices to all customers
  13. Provides administrative guidance, counsel and support to region/sub-region managers
  14. Provides research and planning functions, setting the foundation for future department goals.
  15. Prepares and distributes security incident report information and/or statistics to appropriate Personnel
  16. Reviews and revises a measurement/monitoring system to track results/impact of new loss control methods and procedures
  17. Participates as a core member/or contact member (where appropriate) of the Executive Crisis Management Team
  18. Participates as a Situational Assessment Team core member (where appropriate)
  19. Responsible for facilitating technical leadership on the design and development of access control & security systems and related products; function as a technical expert, when applicable, and influence industry standards and practices and may also function as technical project manager of large projects; provides project management on all security system projects from purchasing to installation
  20. Provides physical audits of office buildings and residences, based on developed standards, and provides recommendations based on findings; provides project management on improvements, and final approval upon project completion
  21. Develops, administers, and maintains databases for LPS; manages collection, interpretation, and reporting of data into approved online incident management systems
  22. Extent of Contacts to Internal and External Individuals:
  23. The job owner will be responsible for the regular contact with internal business leaders, other support functions and the global LPS organisation to ensure that a safe and secure working environment is provided to all employees.
  24. This will include the interaction of our external security partners, consultants and recognised security organisation and government bodies (including OSAC, ISMA, regional RSO’s and TAPA).
  25. Authority to decide.

Specific Knowledge/Skills:

  1. Motorola security management and/or related staff experience preferred, or 7 years security related experience and bachelor's degree in related field or active pursuit of same, or 10 years of experience in the security field with substantial management experience, or an equivalent combination of education, field experience, and management experience
  2. Supply Chain security knowledge is essential in order to develop, implement, and monitor cost effective cargo loss control procedures (where appropriate)
  3. Conveys a favorable image of the security organization and company
  4. Projects self-confidence, authority, and enthusiasm
  5. Adds real value to the success of the security organization
  6. Highly proactive in identifying and driving major security issues
  7. Practices aggressive ownership of responsibilities
  8. Inspires trust in peers and viewed as a role model among the site security team

  11. Utilizes interpersonal skills to manage loss control/security change in the diverse areas of transportation, warehouse and carrier management

  14. Ability to produce multiple solutions to a problem/translates problems into practical solutions
  15. Ability to instruct and facilitate peers in developing quality and productivity goals for the team
  16. Ability to accept change with the appropriate enthusiasm and then sets the example
  17. Ability to develop and continually refine philosophy and design standards, and operational manuals relating to protection systems, procedures, and building design
  18. Ability to delegate in a manner that ensures that all issues will be resolved at the lowest level possible.
  19. Ability to produce and deliver presentations of average difficulty to various audiences
